From sales to service: DearDoc founder Joe Brown’s journey

DearDoc founder and CEO Joe Brown remembers the first time he learned he was good at sales.

“It was when I was working my high school job,” he said. “I remember that I almost shattered the company’s sales record on my first day, and I realized then that this is what I wanted to do and that I needed to go to college to make that happen.”

After graduating from college, Brown worked in sales for a tech company, but soon realized that he loved leading sales teams more than actually working on one. That enabled him to pursue a position training other salespeople, thus combining his two passions: sales and mentorship.

“I really loved mentoring other people and coaching them through building their own sales strategies,” said Brown. “When I founded DearDoc in 2018, I was able to mentor our sales team in a similar way, and that was really fun. We all really enjoy learning from each other and growing, and that’s invaluable.”

That growth mindset has served the company well. Over the last three years, the company has expanded into a new New York office space and has grown from 0 to 110 employees and more than 2,000 clients.

“We’re very excited about our growth and being able to continue to support healthcare providers and their patients,” he said. “We’re very lucky and excited to see what’s going to come next.”
