Scott Cooper Miami Grants Scholarship to Student From Chihuahua, Mexico

The Scott Cooper Miami Project is pleased to announce a new scholarship award recipient. The scholarship application required each student to submit an essay on one of three topics: 1) Is God sending mankind a message in the coronavirus? 2) How has social distancing affected your life? or 3) How has the coronavirus affected your fitness routine?

“We received three times the usual amount of scholarship requests.” said Scott Cooper, “We appreciate all the time that our applicants spent putting their thoughts and ideas to paper. As usual, there can only be one winner.”

New Scholarship Winner Announced

The award was granted to Bonnie Van Wormer of El Paso, Texas.

“I am very grateful to receive this scholarship. I’ve dreamt of going to college from a very young age and am so excited to be closer to that goal,” said Bonnie Van Wormer. “As the oldest child in a very large family, the cost of a good education was a daunting thought. However, even the goals in life that seem far off or intimidating, can be reached as long as we walk toward them one step at a time. Thank you to each and every person who helped make this a possibility for me and for so many other students like myself.”

Bonnie answered the question, “God and coronavirus: Is Humanity being sent a message?”

The Scott Cooper Miami Scholarship is unique in the sense that it requires students to write essays that are thought-provoking and controversial. The scholarship committee is looking to award creative thinkers. It does not base its awards on GPA or the student’s prior academic achievements.

Applicants to the Scott Cooper Miami Scholarship are required to be entering or enrolled in a post-secondary program including Business, Business Management, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Healthcare, Education or Fitness.

(3) Who is your favorite musical artist and why?

Applications were due by July 15, 2020. The winner will be announced on July 30, 2020
