Along with that, one must also avoid processed carbs because it also spikes the blood sugar levels and may affect the heart and kidney. However, Complex carbs are necessary for the body and must be a part of the diet.

A balanced diet when you are eating for longevity must have lots of vegetables and fruits. Veggies make you feel full and are low in calories and high in fiber. That’s why fitness experts often recommend a vegetable diet for weight loss.

Experts recommend a balanced diet over a restrictive diet. It is easy to slip back from a restricted diet and gain weight. So, a balanced diet is practical. It includes healthy fats, protein, and carbohydrates.

Other than diet, they also advise doing intermittent fasting once or twice every week. Intermittent fasting cleanses your body and can be beneficial. There are two types of intermittent fasting.

One is the 16:9 method, which includes a 9-hour window each day where you can eat and fast for the other 16 hours. The other is the 5:2 where you fast for two non-consecutive days during the week and follow a regular diet for the rest five days of the week.
