Experts see a rise in Spain’s Online Gambling Sector

Spain is seeing a spike in online gambling. The numbers are increasing each day for regulated markets. The whole online industry is seeing an increase in revenue. New customers are joining and trying their luck in virtual casinos. There are predictions that globally it will further go up. According to reports, Spain’s online gambling sector is going to rise in the coming 5 years. The report suggested that in the coming five years Spain’s gambling industry (Online) will be a total worth of $1.22 billion.

According to Christian Tirabassi, Gambling sector in most of the European markets is fairly mature. However, there is a lot to catch up as far as Spain is concerned. He added that there is a lot of scope for Spain in this sector in the coming years.

According to Ficom Leisure, the Spain’s gambling scene is being eyed by international market now. This is due to its projected growth. As per Casino Bernie, the revenues in this sector are increasing and are on a proper boom. The total size could reach a minimum of €1 billion ($1.22 billion) and could expand to €1.5 billion ($1.84 billion).

C.E.O of gaming company Optima, Jacob Lopez Curciel’s thoughts resonate with this report. However, he expressed his concerns of over-regulation that might happen in the future that may make it expensive for new operating entrants. But the Spanish regulators seem to be on the other side. They seem to support the operators by reduced betting taxes. The betting taxes were reduced from 25% to 20% to lure gambling operators.

Curciel believes that horse racing is one type of gambling which is going to see tremendous growth. He said that Soccer, Tennis and Basketball are being bet a lot right now and this will shift to horses soon. Whether, this will be a true prediction is upon time to test. Until then it remains a bet!
