If you follow any Instagram celebrities or makeup artists, theres a good chance you’ve heard of Nubounsom lashes. That’s because they’re as much of a regular on the red carpet as Khloe Kardashian, and as visible in your Instagram feed as any beauty influencer you can think of. That’s no coincidence: Khloe Kardashian, along with other celebrities like Jessica Alba, Shay Mitchell, Adrienne Bailon, Jeffree Star, Nikkie de Jager, James Charles, Bretman Rock, and Manny Gutierrez, are constantly sporting the brand’s mink 3-D lashes.
Founder Samantha Nu Bounsom, the Laotian entrepreneur, didn’t expect to dominate the lashes industry. After studying business administration at Kansas State University and business management at Baker University, the young entrepreneur excelled at multiple sales positions for companies such as Cutco and Sprint. But the buttoned-up environment felt like a total contradiction to who she was. “As a female who’s into fashion and makeup, it was very difficult to have to go to work every day working to further the business dreams of someone else. I wanted to find my passion in life. I no longer wanted to work for corporate America” she says.
She left her job to begin lashes brand Nubounsom, which caught the attention of popular Instagram and Youtube celebrities, often having Nubounsom lashes featured in their tutorials, content and posts.
With such rapid growth over the last year, Bounsom’s goals for the next 5 years include growing beyond eye lashes-and continuing to break barriers. “We will continue to build our company around empowering and encouraging people of all walks of life to be beautiful in their own eyes.”
